Good Morning, er, Good Evening

San Jose, CA. 8.02 AM

You walk into the meeting room. You greet others in the room “Good Morning, Gentlemen!”

Someone says, “Good Evening, Joe!”

You think it is a dig at you because you were late for the 8.00 AM meeting. You protest, “Oh come on! I am only a couple of minutes late! With my commute, I am lucky that I could get here this early.”

“No, I didn’t mean to say you’re late! I meant to say that that it’s late evening in Bangalore!”

That’s when you remember that some of the folks in the room are in Bangalore.

What??

Yes, they are attending your meeting via TelePresence, the new video conferencing buzz.

You say, “Oops, yes! Good Evening, folks!”

“Good Morning, Joe. And we know how the commute can be frustrating in the bay area! Trust me, it isn’t any better here in Bangalore!!”

“Don’t forget me, guys. It’s almost midnight here!” says Alicia, sitting at the far end of the table, from Singapore.
